The REX Story..
In
2000 POS International, Inc. identified a growing trend in retail to
offer Gift Cards, Prepaid Cards, Stored Value Cards and Store-Credit Cards . We
determined, based on feedback from our existing clients, that there was a
problem with the Gift Card Industry, in that, store owners who were offering Gift Cards were
loosing the benefits of using their Gift Cards because their existing gift
card software providers were pelting them with charges; Signup Fees, Per Swipe
Fees, Monthly Fees, Account Fees, etc. Not to mention, the additional
insult of having to wait DAYS to get those
sales dollars into their business. We felt there was a better
way! So we developed and released our
GCeXpress.lite Gift Card
tracking software. The software was targeted to single location
retail stores. It directly addressed the shortcomings of the existing Gift
Card Software (mostly provided by credit card processors) by eliminating Per
Swipe Charges, Monthly Fees, Account Fees and the like, AND the Gift Card Sales
dollars generated NEVER leaves the business. GCeXpress.lite was well
received by both old and new clients, alike. But it was limited to a
single location, not very useful or saleable to multi-store enterprises.
It was then that we decided to make a change. We decided that the follow
up product had to be
multi-location capable. We also
added Customer Reward, Membership and Loyalty tracking. We called
it
REX.net.
The
REX.net
software,
being multi-location, required that it use online databases located in online
data centers. This meant the continuing expense of leasing and maintaining
online servers. Yes, we could have done it in our back rooms, or garage,
but for a point of sale application, UPTIME and SECURITY are paramount, so we
ruled this out. It also meant that we would now have to charge our clients
monthly as well. But in analyzing the existing Gift card market we
still wanted to set ourselves apart.
Let's BREAK
some RULES..
We looked
closely at the Gift And Loyalty software markets, and wanted to position
ourselves as the "RULE BREAKERS", in that industry. So we set out to
BREAK the FOLLOWING RULES:

EVERY
other Gift And Loyalty software manufacturer,
charges a lot for their software and they license it BY USER! Our
approach is LOCATION based, you may use the software at as many terminals as
you wish in each location for the same low price. We charge a nominal Installation fee
per location.

NO SWIPE FEE.
Most other Gift And Loyalty software manufacturers incorporate both a monthly
fee and a per swipe fee.
No
per Swipe fees, EVER.

PRICE LEADER.
Our standard monthly fees start
at the same or less that our competitors, but then it can be further reduced
with our REWARDS REWARDS© program to as little as $6.00/month for Gift Cards
Only or $12.00/month for Gift Cards with Loyalty.

NO TEASER.
Most other Gift And Loyalty software manufacturers want to get their customers
HOOKED by offering the first 3 months free or at a reduced rate.
We break that rule by charging FULL PRICE for the first 3 months, but allowing
our clients to get a reduced monthly fee FOREVER AFTER!

REWARDS©. Other Gift And Loyalty software manufacturers only want to sell
software to customers, they don't really believe in what they are selling. We "Practice what we
Preach". We are the only
Gift And Loyalty software manufacturer that rewards
our own clients. Instead of asking for customer satisfaction testimonials, we
REWARD our clients, by reducing their monthly fee FOREVER, just for spreading
the word about our product.
